Mr. Mufeng explains how to use Curlipse, the super curly helix plug-in for 3DMAX

3DMAX super curly spiral plug-in Curlipse, used to create two-dimensional graphics objects, such as open/closed plane or three-dimensional ellipse or circular spline spiral. It is also possible to create N-gons with many options. Unlike standard spiral shapes, Curlipse generates a valid curved shape with the ability to specify the number of interpolation steps.

【Create Curve】

1. Select the "Create" panel > (Graphics) > drop-down list "Kstudio" > "Object Type" rollout > "Curllipse" command, press and drag the mouse in the viewport, release the mouse and drag again, click the mouse to complete create.

2. Set parameters (you can also switch to the modification panel for adjustment):

3. The purpose of creating two-dimensional graphics is generally to generate three-dimensional objects. Add an "Extrude" modifier to the above helix.

4. Switch back to Curlipse from the modifier stack, you can still modify its parameters and view the 3d model status in real time.

5. Add an "Edit Spline" modifier on Curlipse, edit Curlipse at the spline level, and view the 3D model status in real time.

Rendering and Interpolation Rollout

Most spline-based shapes share these parameters.

Rendering and interpolation are standard 3dMax parameters, for details, see the relevant sections in the 3dMax Help: "Rendering" rollout and "Interpolation" rollout

Create Method Rollout

Curlipse shapes offer a standard choice of creation method: center or edge

Keyboard Input Rollout

Create Curlipse splines from the keyboard

Parameters rollout

After creating Curlipse, you can change it with the following parameters:

Length The dimension
along the local Y axis.

Width The dimension
along the local X axis.

Height specifies the height of the curl outline

Outline. Thickness. Close (Outline, Thickness, Closed)
Opens the Outline to allow thickness to be specified.
The Close option allows making closed splines

no outline

Outlined

Closed Curve with Contour

Expansion
specifies how the Curlipse expands/shrinks by height

Expansion:0

Expansion:1

Expansion:-1

Points _ _

Specify points on Curlipse

Turns _

Specifies the number of turns the Curlipse turns between its start and end points

CW/CCW ( clockwise/counterclockwise)

The direction button sets whether the helix rotates clockwise (CW) or counterclockwise (CCW).

Bezier/Corner ( Bezier curve/corner point)

Specifies the type of vertex.
