【installation method】

Method 1: Drag the plug-in file directly to the 3dMax viewport, and wait for the prompt that the installation is complete to pop up.

Method 2: Click the 3dMax main menu->Script->Install Max Creation Graph command, and then choose to run the plug-in script file package.

Tip: After installation, the plug-in is displayed as a modifier in the modifier list of the command panel, and its usage is the same as other modifiers.

[Quick start!

1. Select the geometric object (preferably an editable poly) to model the weave.

2. Switch the command panel to the "Modify" panel, and choose to apply the "Weave" modifier from the list of modifiers.

3. Apply the Shell modifier followed by the TurboSmooth modifier.

After applying the "TurboSmooth" modifier, we will find that the braided wires are broken into pieces, the next step is to solve this problem:

4. Insert a "Vertex Weld" modifier between the "Braid" and "Shell" of the modifier stack, and adjust the appropriate threshold (usually the default value is enough). At this time, we can see that the braided wires that have been broken into sections are connected together.

5. Select the "Weave" modifier from the "Modifier Stack" and adjust the parameters of the "Weave" modifier until we achieve the effect we want.

【Why is it recommended for EditablePoly objects?

Precautions:

1. Too many knitting lines will bring heavy computing pressure to the computer, so this should be considered when using it.

2. Although this is a small plug-in, it is relatively stable in operation (we cannot place too strict requirements on a small plug-in, after all, the cost and output must be directly proportional), if there is some kind of error in the process, it is recommended to restart 3dMax software.
