[PMP Preparation] Knowledge Points of PMBOK 6th Edition-Chapter 8: Project Quality Management II and III

The quality of management is:

  • The process of applying the organization's quality policy to the project and transforming the quality management plan into executable quality activities.
  • The main function of this process is to improve the possibility of achieving quality goals, as well as to identify invalid processes and causes of poor quality.

Management quality is sometimes referred to as "quality assurance", but the definition of "management quality" is broader than "quality assurance" because it can be used for non-project work.

Management quality is considered to be the common responsibility of all people.

The audit is:

  • A structured and independent process used to determine whether project activities follow the organization and project policies, processes, and procedures.

The quality of control is:

  • In order to evaluate performance, ensure that the project output is complete, correct, and meet customer expectations, the process of monitoring and recording the results of quality management activities.
  • The main function of this process is to verify that the deliverables and work of the project have reached the quality requirements of the main interested parties, and are available for final acceptance.

The purpose of controlling the quality process is:

  • Measure the completeness, compliance and applicability of the product or service before user acceptance and final delivery.
  • This process verifies consistency and compliance with the specifications described in the planning stage by measuring all steps, attributes and variables.

The following meetings can be used as part of the quality control process:

  • Review approved change requests
  • Review/lessons learned
