On September 9, 2023, the KCC@Changsha Open Source Reading Club & openKylin Lovers Salon, organized by Kaiyuan Society and the openKylin community , was successfully held in Changsha. This is the first time that KCC@Changsha has officially entered the public eye and carried out open source exchange activities. It is also the first offline salon of the openKylin community in Changsha. Many open source enthusiasts in and around Changsha gathered at the event to listen to readings and share readings, participate in discussions on open source topics, and achieve 1+1>2 cross-community cooperation.
At the beginning of the event, Zhuang Biaowei , director and CEO of Kaiyuan Society , introduced to the guests what kind of community Kaiyuan Society is. With the vision of "based on China and contributing to the world", it aims to create a healthy and sustainable open source ecosystem and promote open source in China. The community has become an active participant and contributor to the global open source system.
Liu Xiaodong , the current person in charge of KCC@Changsha and a member of the openKylin Community Technical Committee, introduced the purpose and operation of the openKylin community. The community aims to take "co-creation" as the core and "open source gathering to create the future" as the community concept. During the ice-breaking exchange session, all participants introduced their careers, told their stories about open source, and shared their views and aspirations on participating in open source.
During the reading sharing session, "Open Source Tao" creator Shi Si gave an in-depth explanation of "Open Source Licensing: Software Freedom and Intellectual Property Law" to the guests, including questions about open source licensing, mainstream open source licensing books, open source licensing classifications, and open source software. Movement and the core role that open source licensing plays in the development of open source were introduced, bringing a rich feast of knowledge to the participants.
In the final reading and debate session of "Why Greatness Cannot Be Planned", Zhuang Biaowei and Shi Si, as representatives of the two sides of the debate, went through fierce debates such as argumentation, attack and defense, free argumentation, and concluding remarks, and gradually brought different views back to unity, just like Kaiyuan's The development process is precisely the twists and turns of exploration that have made us more convinced of its innovative power and industrial value.
