TB6612FNG DC Motor Driver

1. Introduction of TB6612FNG

The TB6612FNG is an excellent dual motor driver ideal for interfacing two small DC motors such as tiny metal gear motors to a microcontroller, it can also be used to control a single bipolar stepper motor. MOSFET-based H-bridges are much more efficient than the BJT-based H-bridges used in older drivers such as the L298N and Sanyo's LB1836M, which allow more current to be delivered to the motor while drawing less current from the logic supply (for true For low voltage applications, LB1836 still has the advantages of TB6612).

In a typical application, the power connections are made on one side of the board and the control connections are made on the other side. All control inputs are pulled low internally. Each of the two motor channels has two direction control pins and one speed control pin, and can accept PWM inputs at frequencies up to 100 kHz. The STBY pin must be driven high to bring the driver out of Standby mode.
