The APDS9930 is a non-contact gesture sensor HMI (Human Machine Interface) to control a computer, microcontroller, robot or home, automotive, industrial gesture switching or ambient light and color measurement and proximity detection by swiping your hand over the sensor .
APDS-9930 The APDS 9930 provides digital ambient light sensing, IR LEDs and a complete proximity detection system in a single chip. Proximity functionality provides plug-and-play detection at 100mm without front glass. Proximity detection works well from bright sunlight to dark areas. The wide dynamic range also allows operation in low power modes that place the device between ALS (ambient light sensing) and proximity measurement. The APDS 9930 is especially suited for display management with the aim of extending battery life and providing optimal viewing under varying lightning conditions.
