Tails 5.0 Beta is released, the most private Linux distribution

The Tails development team has released the beta version of its Tails 5.0 for public testing. The official version of Tails 5.0 will be released next month and it is based on the latest Debian GNU/Linux 11 "Bullseye" operating system.

  • Tor Browser 11.0.10
  • Driver-free printing and scanning

fix the problem

  • Fix language translation in welcome screen
  • Fixed opening Veracrypt volumes with long passwords

Known Issues

  • WhisperBack cannot send error reports
  • Tails installer sometimes fails to install or upgrade Tails
  • Additional Software sometimes fails to install packages on first launch after configuration
  • OpenPGP Applet is unavailable: its icon cannot be displayed
  • Tails 5.0 Beta takes more time to launch than previous versions

Tails 5.0 is still in beta, so do not use this version in any production environment.
