MX Linux 19.3 released, a Debian-based desktop Linux distribution

The third maintenance version 19.3 of MX Linux 19 has been released. The updates of this version include bug fixes and software upgrades.

The standard MX 19.3 (32-bit and 64-bit versions) uses the latest debian 4.19 kernel. Unlike the past, the current kernel will be automatically updated with the Debian source code. The ISO image of the AHS (Advanced Hardware Support) version uses the debian 5.6 kernel, MESA 20, and the newly upgraded firmware package. As always, this version contains the latest updates in Debian 10.6 and the MX repository.

Update highlights of mx-apps since 19.2:

  • mx-installer (based on gazelle-installer) fixes automatic installation and ESP flag settings in UEFI settings
  • mx-snapshot-misc. enhancements, including resetting the network connection in the gui
  • mx-packageinstaller-Update kernel entries and other improvements
  • Improve antiX live system, the system will no longer set alt+shift by default for keyboard switching
