1. Preparation work

Nowadays, most computers are in UEFI mode. This tutorial only introduces the dual-system installation method in the new UEFI mode.

1.2 Confirm the number of hard drives

2. Make U disk

3. Disk partition

3.1 Single block situation

If it is a single block, four partitions need to be compressed first.

Why choose the last disk to compress the volume: The file storage formats of Windows and Ubuntu are different. Our partition operation only divides a part of the disk to Ubuntu. In fact, the two systems still share a disk. In order to prevent the storage formats from being different The two systems may affect each other. We compressed the Ubuntu partition from the last disk to the last segment of the disk. That is, the front part of a disk is the Windows partition, and the back part is the Ubuntu partition.

3.2 Double block situation

双块可以先在C盘(系统盘)中压缩一个200M及以上的分区用来存放引导文件即启动项/boot, and the areas of the other three mount points can all be placed on the second disk. You can divide the compressed volume into three areas now, or you can divide it during Ubuntu installation.
Anyway, during installation, you have to enter the manual partition interface to select the boot area. We will divide it specifically during the installation process.

单双硬盘为什么分区存在区别:You can see that the only difference in partitioning is that when using dual hard drives, 200M is allocated on the C drive to install startup items. When the computer is turned on, it will automatically search for startup items on the hard disk where the C drive is located to start the system. Of course, we hope that the installed ubuntu startup items can also be searched, so we need to install the startup items here so that they will be searched when booting. Go to the two startup items of windows and ubuntu, we can manually choose which system to enter. Of course, the "startup items need to be installed on the hard drive where the C drive is located" is not absolute. It is just to automatically search for the startup items when booting. It can also be installed on other hard drives. It is just that you need to enter the boot manager every time you boot to find ubuntu to start. item, this would be more troublesome.

4. Start the installation

4.1 BIOS settings

Usually there will be a key prompt to enter the BIOS interface on the computer startup interface. Different computer models have different keys.

④ Home directory /home
size: All the rest is allocated to it.
Used for: Ext4 log file system.
Mount point: /home
is equivalent to other disks in Windows. All the rest is allocated to it.
