Installation of Ubuntu 16.04 dual system tutorial in UEFI environment under Win 10 and solutions to problems after installation

foreword

Recently, I plan to learn Linux, and plan to install dual systems, using Ubuntu16.04, which is a relatively stable version at present. My installation process is quite tortuous, well, the main problem is still to guide here, during which I deleted the D drive by mistake, and my heart hurts all day. However, as a cleanup, there is no important software data, but there is no backup. There are basically tutorials on the Internet for the installation of the front of the dual system, and the process is probably the same. Computer is HP, UEFI boot mode

Ready to work

1. Download Ubuntu16.04

NetEase has open source mirrors, download ubuntu16.04:     http://mirrors.163.com/

2. Make a boot disk

Download the UItraiso floppy disk online and prepare an empty U disk, because when writing the hard disk image, everything in the U disk will be emptied, so pay attention to yourself.

Open UItraiso Floppy Disk, find the Ubuntu image file you downloaded earlier -> Click Start -> Write to Hard Disk Image

Ps: Unplug the U disk until the installation is complete. By the way, turn off the power options -> function of the power button -> start fast startup.

3. Create partitions

Create a disk partition for your Ubuntu system in an unallocated state. I allocated 100G to Ubuntu. Anyway, the disk is enough. The recommendation is 50G. It is not capped. It depends on how you want to play. Click on a large disk -> select 102400Mb -> Compressed volume, the result is as follows.

start installation

1. Restart the computer, enter the bios interface (you can keep pressing the esc key, choose to enter the bios, and I directly press F10), after entering, find the system configuration (System Configuration) -> Boot Option (Boot Option) -> traditional option (Secure) Boot)->disabled, and move the USB Diskette on Key/USB Hard Disk (this is mine, find the boot item of the U disk for different computers) to the first place, then save and exit

2. Then go to the installation interface, click Install Ubuntu and select Chinese Simplified

Ps: Part of the pictures at the back are from Baidu experience, emmmm doesn't want to install it once

3. Next select the option to prepare to install Ubuntu. If you check both in this step, it will take longer to install Ubuntu, but it will save you a lot of trouble after installation, of course you can leave it unchecked.

4. Continue, here I choose other options, of course, you can also choose to coexist with win10, I still like to partition by myself

5. OK, next is the point

Find the free partition -> create a new partition (the '+' sign in the lower left)  Ps: not the picture above

1.Swap 10G                  primary partition space starting position Swap space
2.efi            400MB   logical partition       space starting position efi system partition
3./home       10G  logical partition       space starting position EXT4 log file system
4./             30G  logical partition       space starting position
EXT4 journaling file system 5./user      other logical partition       space starting position         EXT4 journaling file system
Note: Don't rush to install now after dividing, but also install the device that starts the bootloader at the bottom : select the sda corresponding to the efi partition created in step 2. Then install.
6. Select the time zone -> Shanghai -> select the keyboard layout -> fill in the user information (Who I am balabala) -> continue, it will take a long time to restart the computer after installing Ubuntu.

problems

After restarting, select F9 to enter ubuntu, enter the login information.... Then it has been stuck on the purple screen, and there is nothing on the desktop.

This is a problem with the graphics card driver. In my case, it is a problem with the graphics card. (There may be other problems)

Solution

Ps: For details, please refer to https://www.evernote.com/shard/s693/sh/2d801a8f-3273-4f50-91e1-0d1ba344708d/65d7fd81ab891a8e8849b2264a332874

1. Press e in the boot interface to enter the interface with a bunch of codes.

2. Find Splash and add a space nomodeset after it.

3. Ctrl+c to restart the system.

4. Go to System Settings->Software and Updates->Additional Drivers-> Tick Update Graphics Driver as shown in the picture→Install and restart the system

6. OK. Re-enter ubuntu on it.

I didn't set up the boot here, I will do it slowly later, don't use EasyBCD, it is normal to not find ubuntu under Linux, because EasyBCD does not support UEFI mode.
