Windows installation Ubuntu18.04 dual system

1. To make a bootable U disk, you can use UltraISO software to make it. The official website: UltraISO Floppy Disk Chinese official website-CD image file creation/editing/conversion tool

2. To view the computer BIOS mode, use the shortcut key win+R, enter msinfo32, press Enter, and view the BIOS mode. This tutorial is only applicable to computers whose BIOS mode is UEFI.

3. To prepare the disk space required by Ubuntu, first check how many hard disks the computer has.

Right-click My Computer, select Manage, select Disk Management to view, my computer is a single hard disk

If the computer is a single hard disk, you only need to compress the space from the disk, for example, allocate 200G from the D drive or E drive you are using with enough space.

If the computer has dual hard disks, you need to allocate 500M from the C drive as the Ubuntu startup item, and then allocate 200G from a drive with enough space such as the D drive or E drive.

Specific compression method: right-click My Computer, select Manage, select Disk Management, select the disk to be compressed, right-click and select Compress, and enter the compressed space size for compression. There is no need to create a new volume after the compression is complete.

4. After the preparatory work is completed, start the installation, shut down the computer, insert the boot U disk, boot into the BIOS setting and select the U disk to start, each computer has a different key to enter the BIOS, and you can search on Baidu for details.

Select the U disk to start, enter the installation interface, and select Install Ubuntu

 Choose a language

Connect to WIFI (some computers may not support UBuntu's WIFI driver, and I have no specific solution, you can Baidu yourself)

Choose normal install and install for other devices

Choose another option (requires Ubuntu to be partitioned)

Choose the disk prepared for Ubuntu, mine is 200G, please do not choose other hard disks, it may cause loss of Windows files or system crash. The specific partition is shown in the figure

EFI partition, as the Ubuntu boot item (if it is a single hard disk, directly divide 500M from 200G, and if there are two hard disks, give it 500M from the C drive)

Swap space, used as the memory of Ubuntu, is divided according to the actual situation, generally twice the actual memory of the computer

The / partition, as the main partition of the UBuntu system, needs to install some software in it, and generally allocates 30G space

All the remaining space is given to /home

Finally, select the startup item, and be sure to select the 500M EFI partition just allocated

 select time zone

 Set username and password

Finally, start the installation, wait for the installation to complete, and then restart. After restarting, enter the system and enter the account password, and then you can pull out the bootable U disk.

Everyone's computer hardware is different, and the compatibility with UBuntu is different. If there is a problem during installation, you can try Baidu search.
