Transfer: Win10 ubuntu UEFI dual system installation and perfect deletion

Install ubuntu dual system under win10, under the same hard disk conditions

UEFI+GPT boot

I installed linuxMint, a derivative of Ubuntu, and the operations should be the same

when installing

Installation process 1: Ubuntu starts to install, select the option compatible with the existing system when partitioning, the default setting

The boot partition is merged with Win10, and the EFI partition will be automatically set to the existing EFI partition;

A swap partition is automatically created. The size of the visual inspection is the same as the memory size. I installed it in a virtual machine, the virtual memory is 2G, and 2G is created. I don’t know if there is an upper limit;

Automatically create a / root partition, occupying all the remaining space;

/boot partition is not created

Installation process two: manual partition

Manually select EFI to an existing EFI partition;

Create a smaller swap partition, you can manually specify the size

Create / partition, size can be specified manually

The effect is the same as the first, mainly to verify whether UEFI is selected by default to the existing UEFI.

Installation process three: Manually select UEFI partition?

Resetting the EFI partition doesn't seem to be of much use, and it will still install to the EFI partition with Windows.

Installation process 4: Manually create /boot partition?

The public efi partition will still be automatically located, and /boot will not affect the result.

After installation, the default boot item of UEFI will be set as the Ubuntu boot item, enter the grub boot program, and the grub boot program contains the win entry.

It seems that after the win10 upgrade, the UEFI default boot item will be reset to the Windows10 boot item, and there is no ubuntu entry under win10.

At this point, you need to select the startup item at boot time, or reset the Ubuntu startup item to the default startup item

 Reset the Ubuntu boot items to the default boot items, download EasyUEFI, and reset the boot sequence.

when deleted

When Ubutnu needs to be removed,

Delete partition: Using DiskGenius, delete the Linux partition.

Remove UEFI boot: Using DiskGenius, go to UEFI partition, delete Ubuntu folder.

Remove UEFI boot items: Using EasyUEFI, remove Ubuntu boot items. or use CMD command

Use CMD command, specific operation steps:

  1. win+R to bring up cmd
  2. bcdedit /export newbcd
  3. bcdedit /enum firmware
  4. 找到Ubuntu的对应identifier,复制(控制台下复制用右键标记-回车)
  5. bcdedit /store newbcd /delete {xxx} ({}里面就是上一步的identifier)
  6. bcdedit /import newbcd /clean

或者

  1. win+R cmd
  2. bcdedit /enum firmware 找到Ubuntu的对应identifier,复制(控制台下复制用右键标记-回车)
  3. bcdedit /delete {xxx}

UEFI+GPT
