Parrot 4.7 release, Debian-based Linux distributions

Parrot Security OS is safety-oriented operating system based on Debian, it is designed for penetration testing, computer forensics, reverse engineer, attack, cloud penetration testing, privacy / anonymity, password and other occasions. Version 4.7 has been released:

  • Change domain: After a community vote, as the new default domain using parrotlinux.org the project. The specific part parrotsec.org used for other purposes, also introduced other projects to deal with the infrastructure domain.
  • Change repository: The official name of the current decision to the repository changed from stable rolling. For end users, there is no change in the current branch Parrot will be the same as before, but now uses a different name to reflect the rolling release characteristics of the system.
  • The new menu structure and tools to improve: the affected menu structure has been restructured and redesigned to make the tool more accessible in the hierarchy more logic. The new tools have been added to the project, we plan to add more tools in the future.
  • The new sandbox (sandbox): In Parrot 4.7, the sandbox is disabled by default, users can decide whether to start the sandbox. From / sandbox / folders easily start the program already installed sandbox version (search function using the bottom of the menu provided), or use the default tool firecfg re-enable it.
  • Support Linux 5.2
  • MATE 1.22: 4.7 provides the latest MATE 1.22 desktop environment. As well as the latest Mozilla Firefox 69 browser and the latest version of Radare 2 and Cutter, and the latest core system from upstream Debian GNU / Linux repository.
