1. Preparation
First, we need to make preparations to install Windows 7 in VMware.
①VMware Workstation software

2. Set up the virtual machine
I personally like to use the "Custom" setting.
Select [Customize]
Choose the highest [hardware compatibility]
Here we first select [Install operating system later]. There are still some places that need to be set later.
Select [Microsoft Windows] for the guest operating system, and select [Windows 7 x64] for the version.
Here we can "rename the virtual machine" and set the [virtual machine name] and [installation location]
For the firmware type we choose [BIOS]
Processor configuration can be [configured on demand]
Memory configuration can be [configured on demand]
Network type selection [Use bridged network]
Just select [Default Recommended] for the controller type.
Also select [Default Recommended] for the virtual disk type.
Select [Create a new virtual machine hard disk]
[Configuration on demand] Disk size
After confirming that everything is correct, click "Next"
Click [Finish]
Click [CD/DVD (SATA)] or [Edit Virtual Machine Settings]
Insert the [IOS image file] and select the [Windows7 image] we downloaded before
At this point, the virtual machine setup is complete. Next, we start the virtual machine to install Windows 7.
3. Install Windows 7
Successfully loaded Windows 7
Set [Installation Language], etc.
Click [Install Now]
Click to check [Terms of Agreement]
Select [Custom] installation
If there are no special requirements, select the drive and click [Next] directly.
Waiting for Windows 7 to be installed
After the installation is complete, wait for the automatic restart to enter the system configuration.
4. Configure Windows 7
Starting Windows for the first time and configuring file information
Set [account name]
Set a password (if you don’t want to set a password, just click on the next page so you don’t need a password to log in)
Select [Skip] product key
Auto-update selection [Ask me later]
After confirming the [time zone] is correct, click [Next]
For the network environment, you can select [Public Network]
Waiting for the final step of auto-configuration
Windows 7 installed successfully
5. About downloading
5.1 Currently supports OneDrive, Baidu Netdisk, Alibaba Cloud Disk, Chengtong Netdisk, and Lanzuo Cloud. You can use it according to your own habits.
5.2 The download links of all major network disks are placed in word text, as shown in Figure [5-2]
5.3 Some network disks cannot be displayed or are temporarily missing due to the restrictions of the network disk's own rules. Please go to other network disks to download.
5.4 Download speed
OneDrive: It can be downloaded directly from the web page. The download speed is about 150k~4m. The client may be faster. Log in with a Microsoft account. Generally, the win11 and win10 operating systems come with OneDrive (suitable for users with large storage and suitable for stocking up)
Baidu Netdisk: Everyone knows it. You need to log in to a Baidu account to download. The speed for non-members is about 100k, and the speed for members is full (suitable for member users)
Alibaba Cloud Disk: There is no speed limit for the time being. Log in to your account to download. Files larger than 100m need to be downloaded using the client. Sharing of compressed files is not supported for the time being (suitable for downloading non-compressed resource types)
Chengtong Netdisk: can be downloaded directly from the web page, the web page download speed is about 100k, the client is about 150k, and the membership speed is full (suitable for downloading small files and not wanting to log in to the account, ps: member users will not bother)
Lan Zuoyun: The web page can be downloaded directly without speed limit. Currently, it supports file downloads of 300m and so on, but I can only upload files of 100m and so on because I am a free user and cannot afford to be a member, haha (suitable for downloading small files) )
