1 hardware resources

Chuanglong Technology SOM-TL64x is a multi-core industrial-grade core board based on TI Sitara series AM64x dual-core ARM Cortex-A53 + single/quad-core Cortex-R5F + single-core Cortex-M4F design, leading out 5x TSN through industrial-grade B2B connectors Ethernet, 9x UART, 2x CAN-FD, GPMC, PCIe/USB 3.1 and other interfaces. The core board has been verified by professional PCB layout and high and low temperature tests. It is stable and reliable, and can meet various industrial application environments.

The SOM-TL64x core board is equipped with CPU, ROM, RAM, crystal oscillator, power supply, LED and other hardware resources, and leads out IO through industrial-grade B2B connectors.

1.1    CPU

The CPU model of the core board is AM6412/AM6442, packaged in FCBGA (441), the working temperature is -40°C~105°C, the number of pins is 441, and the size is 17.2mm*17.2mm.

The AM64x processor architecture is as follows:

1.2    ROM

The core board is connected to eMMC through the MMC0 bus, using 8bit data lines, and the eMMC model is compatible with KAS0311D (8GByte) of KOWIN and FEMDRW008G (8GByte) of Longsys.

1.3    RAM

The core board is connected to a piece of DDR4 through a dedicated DDR bus, using a 16bit data line. The DDR4 model is compatible with H5AN8G6NCJR-xxI (1GByte) of SK Hynix Inc, MT40A512M16 (1GByte) and MT40A1G16 (2GByte) of Micron, and supports DDR4-1600 working mode (800MHz).

1.4 crystal oscillator

The core board uses an industrial-grade active crystal oscillator (OSC) to provide a system clock source for the CPU, with a clock frequency of 25MHz and an accuracy of ±50ppm.

1.5 power supply

The core board adopts a discrete power supply design, and the selected power solutions meet the requirements of industrial-grade environments. The power supply system is designed to meet the power supply, power-on and power-off sequence requirements of the CPU, and is powered by a 5V DC power supply.

1.6    LED

The core board has 3 LEDs. Among them, LED0 is the power indicator light, which will be on by default after the system is powered on; LED1 and LED2 are user-programmable indicator lights, corresponding to the two pins GPIO0_13 and GPIO0_14 respectively, and the high level lights up.

1.7 B2B connector

The core board adopts 4 industrial-grade B2B connectors from Lianke Company, with a total of 240pins, a pitch of 0.5mm, and a combined height of 4.0mm. Two 60pin male B2B connectors, model NLWBP05-60C-1.0H, height 1.0mm; two 60pin female B2B connectors, model NLWBS05-60C-3.0H, height 3.0mm.

1.8 Peripheral Resources

2          引脚说明

2.1    引脚排列

核心板B2B连接器分别为CON0A(公座,对应评估底板CON0A)、CON0B(公座,对应评估底板CON0B)、CON0C(母座,对应评估底板CON0C)、CON0D(母座,对应评估底板CON0D),引脚排列如下图所示。

2.2    引脚定义

核心板引脚定义如下表。

其中“B2B引脚号”为核心板B2B引脚序列号,“芯片引脚号”为CPU引脚序列号,“引脚信号名称”为CPU引脚信号名称,“引脚功能”为核心板引脚推荐功能描述。

引脚信号名称中,如包含"PU"、"PD",则分别指该引脚在核心板内部已进行上拉(PU)或已进行下拉(PD)配置。请勿改变"PU"、"PD"引脚的上下拉状态,否则将可能导致核心板部分功能异常。

3.3    热成像图

核心板安装好散热器,在常温环境、满负荷转态下稳定工作10min后,分别在不开启风扇、开启风扇的情况下,测得热成像图如下所示。

5          底板设计注意事项

5.1    最小系统设计

基于SOM-TL64x核心板进行底板设计时,请务必满足最小系统设计要求,具体如下。

5.1.1            电源设计说明

(1)        VDD_5V_MAIN

VDD_5V_MAIN为核心板的主供电输入,以及为底板其它外设供电,电源功率建议按最大10W进行设计。

VDD_5V_MAIN在核心板内部未预留总电源输入的储能大电容,底板设计时请参照评估底板原理图,在靠近B2B连接器焊盘位置放置储能大电容。

(2)        VDD_3V3_SOM_OUT

VDD_3V3_SOM_OUT为BOOTMODE[0:15]信号的上拉配置电源,以及底板电源使能端的上拉配置电源,最大电流约为50mA,请勿用于其他负载供电。

(3)        VDD_3V3_MAIN

VDD_3V3_MAIN为评估底板外设接口电源。为使VDD_3V3_MAIN满足处理器的上电、掉电时序要求,推荐参考如下电路进行电源使能设计。

5.1.2            系统启动配置

由于BOOTMODE[0:15]引脚与GPMC存在复用关系,因此若使用GPMC外接设备,请保证CPU在上电初始化过程中BOOTMODE[0:15]引脚电平不受外接设备的影响,以免导致CPU无法正常启动。

核心板内部未对BOOTMODE[0:15]引脚进行上下拉配置,底板设计时,请参考评估底板BOOT SET部分电路进行启动配置电路设计。

5.1.3            系统复位信号

(1)        <POR_IN>/PU/3V3

<POR_IN>/PU/3V3为核心板的上电复位输入引脚,核心板已上拉10K电阻,默认情况请悬空处理。

(2)        E17/<PORz_OUT>/PD/3V3

E17/<PORz_OUT>/PD/3V3为核心板的复位输出引脚,核心板内部已设计10K下拉电阻,默认情况请悬空处理。对于有严格要求上电复位顺序的外设,需结合外设的上电时序和复位时序来使用E17/<PORz_OUT>/PD/3V3。

(3)        E18/<RESET_REQz>/PU/3V3

E18/<RESET_REQz>/PU/3V3为CPU的Warm_Reset输入引脚,核心板已上拉10K电阻,默认情况请悬空处理。

(4)        B12/<MCU_RESETz>/PU/3V3

B12/<MCU_RESETz>/PU/3V3为MCU域的Warm_Reset输入引脚,核心板已上拉100K电阻,默认情况请悬空处理。

5.2    其他设计注意事项

5.2.1            保留Micro SD接口

评估底板通过MMC1总线引出Micro SD接口,主要用于调试过程中使用Linux系统启动卡来启动系统,或批量生产时可基于Micro SD卡快速固化系统至eMMC,底板设计时建议保留此外设接口。

5.2.2            保留UART0接口

评估底板将UART0_RXD和UART0_TXD引脚通过CH340T芯片引至Micro USB接口,作为系统调试串口使用,底板设计时建议保留UART0作为系统调试串口。
