This is the first time in the history of the BSV Blockchain Association to present our annual report in the form of a series of videos. Through this format, we hope not only to keep you informed about our activities, but also to provide you with engaging content, making it easier for you to share the projects you are most interested in with those outside the BSV ecosystem.
Guardians of the Bitcoin Protocol and Motivators of the Ecosystem
In the first video released today, Patrick Prinz, managing director of the BSV Blockchain Association, pointed out that the ultimate goal of the association is to promote the development of the BSV ecosystem and the Bitcoin protocol. “The association exists for the ecosystem. We are the guardians of the protocol. We are responsible for the technology roadmap and provide know-how and tools to everyone.”
He stated that the goal of the association is to stimulate innovation and detonate creativity, and at the same time to be an open and enthusiastic organization for creative people to try to use Bitcoin technology.
Standing at the forefront of multiple fields such as Web 3.0
In Prinz's view, one of the most exciting aspects of the BSV ecosystem is the technology's untapped potential, making it short-sighted in comparison to seeing Bitcoin as merely a censorship-resistant investment vehicle . "In terms of data transmission methods, we have a grander vision that we can conduct end-to-end direct communication not only between people, but also between people and machines, machines and people, or machines and machines. It's a vision we've shared."
Just as none of us could have foreseen that the Internet would be born out of a primitive email system — a system where you had to open a terminal window and type a bunch of server commands to create an email — Prinz thinks blockchain will Make an immeasurable impact on our world.
"Test drive before you buy"
As the presentation progressed, Prinz advised those considering trying to incorporate blockchain technology in a government program or private enterprise to "take a test drive before buying a car." He pointed out that very few people are actually using the blockchain because the act of buying cryptocurrencies on an exchange is not done on-chain, but on a centralized database that assigns prices, not unlike securities trading. no difference. “This has nothing to do with blockchain,” he points out. “Experience peer-to-peer electronic cash transfers, micro-transactions, and real-time settlement and you’ll be amazed.
