Shoukaigan Community Roundtable, released "China Open Source Community Landscape", a must-see event for this event

As the basic unit of open source ecological development, various types of open source communities in China have stopped and gone in the 30-year history. With the advancement of the open source movement in China, the open source community has also ushered in a golden period of accelerated development. Since its development, various open source communities have emerged in China, promoting the development of the open source ecosystem.

Welcome to the 2022 Open Atom Global Open Source Summit [30 Years of Open Source Community] special event, this event will take you to review the ups and downs and glorious moments of the development of the domestic open source community, and explore the new technology, ecology and business trends of the open source community . At the special event, OSCHINA will release the "China Open Source Community Landscape" to share with open source enthusiasts many active open source communities in China, and use the open source community as a link to help the construction of open source projects and build an open source ecosystem.

Highlight 1: For the first time, the old guns of the old technology community are teasing each other on the same stage

For the first time, CSDN, InfoQ, 51CTO and several veteran domestic technology community bosses from OSCHINA are on the same stage, sharing the things about their own communities and sharing their thoughts on building a community.

Topics include:

  • origin
  • navigate
  • commercialize
  • competition and cooperation
  • Unforgettable two or three things
  • Outlook

Enough to say, no need to go into details.

Highlight 2: The first round table on the root open source community

There is no clear definition of the root community. Generally, it refers to a community system built on the basis of the Linux kernel and surrounding open source components, and does not depend on the upstream distribution. Different branches or downstream communities can also be derived from this. This round table does not cover this definition, but in a broad sense, "to the root link (basic link) of the upstream and downstream of the open source community, and to build the community."

Combined with the new trend of "rooting open source community" in China, this roundtable will share the meaning of "rooting community", how upstream and downstream operations/collaboration, and influences are shared by several domestic open source communities rooted in "basic links".

The "root" background of several communities invited by this roundtable:

  • Deepin , in May 2022, Tongxin Software announced to build the first root community of Chinese desktop operating systems.
  • Xiangshan , in the field of RISC-V, is a lower-level root support than the operating system.
  • openEuler , an open source community that proposed the concept of root community earlier in China, builds a community with international influence on the basis of this root community technology.
  • OpenCloudOS , OpenCloudOS released the L1 to L3 full link roadmap. L1 is equivalent to upstream, which is the result of thousands of times of combing the source, and belongs to the bottom version; L2 is equivalent to the downstream of the river, which can be stably applied to enterprise-level scenarios and directly generate benefits; L3 is quite For the downstream tributaries of the river, after repeated verification by L2, it is released to the community for free, and then widely used in various scenarios.
  • Dragon lizard , the dragon lizard community is trying to create a new operating system supply chain, from the upstream community to the dragon lizard community, and then to the Anolis OS release version, operating system manufacturers and other partners can derive their own versions, so that the international and domestic double cycle new supply chain.

Highlight 3: China's big history of open source, and the road of production, education and research

Regarding the historical background of open source in China, how does open source move towards production, education and research? We directly invite several major domestic official related communities born under the historical background to talk about these issues. Isn’t it the most direct and most predictable?

"Open source production, education, research and use, push away from the community" roundtable invited:

  • Liu Peng, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of China Open Source Software Promotion Alliance
  • Zhou Minghui, Deputy Director of CCF Open Source Development Committee
  • Guo Xue, Deputy Director of Cloud Computing Department, Institute of Cloud Computing and Big Data, CAICT
  • Li Zhenning, Deputy Secretary General of China Open Source Cloud Alliance
  • Yang Liyun, Director of Research Office, China Electronics Standardization Institute

Highlight 4: Release of "China Open Source Community Landscape"

200 communities have been included, welcome to participate. (Keep it mysterious, stay tuned)
