Purism, the company that provides high-quality security, privacy, and freedom-focused computers and software, is releasing initial preparation documents for its upcoming Librem 5  Linux mobile platform.

As you probably know, Purism is working hard to bring you the first privacy-focused Linux smartphone, the Librem 5, and they're doing everything they can to ensure documentation is available for developers who want to be on the Librem 5 mobile platform.

This summer, Purism will begin distributing development boards for the upcoming Librem 5 phone, giving early adopters and developers a better understanding of how they work and preparing to build compelling and innovative applications for smartphones, expected Listed early next year.

For this, comprehensive documentation is needed to help developers use the Librem 5 phone and development kit to achieve their goals. Currently, this document will help developers learn how to set up wlroots-based phone cases for development, set up Plasma Mobile, and build, deploy, and publish applications.

"The goal of this documentation is to welcome you on board and to provide you with a path through examples and links to external documentation that will help you start from unboxing the board to building and deploying a flatpak application - and eventually including putting your packages into PureOS," said Heather Ellsworth, Purism's head of documentation.

In addition to helping you set up the Librem 5 development environment to build PureOS applications, the Debian-based operating system that will power Purism's upcoming Linux smartphones, the documentation is also a great place for emerging and experienced developers, Find out how they can participate in improvement projects and access useful external resources.

In the end, this document will be the best place to learn about the HIG (Human Interface Guidelines) that Purism plans to use in the core app that ships by default on the Librem 5 phone, detailing its phone interface design. You can find the original documentation here, but keep in mind it's still a work in progress, so it may change in time.
