Librem 5 update released in August. Librem 5 is a user privacy and encryption at the core of free and open source Linux smartphone, which runs Debian-based GNU / Linux operating system, desktop environments KDE Plasma Mobile or GNOME Shell, running only open source applications.
The software update focus on the most critical applications needed by your phone: calling, messaging and web browsing. There is also some support for improvement projects, such as GNOME settings, shell and GNOME Contacts and so on.
Libhandy
Back button on HdyHeaderBar made some improvements adaptive dialog box, drawer application brings a very good new tab widget.
Calls
This release adds a call history, contacts application allows dial the number, and the system receives a call when the shell is locked. In order to allow contact or call any other application, adding a phone URL handler. When GNOME is started, the program now call a new daemon mode is activated, and therefore can always receive incoming requests.
Messaging
The message function, this version fixes some crashes, and redesigned the welcome screen, improved SMS plug-in, and fixes many problems in SMS.
GTK
Added a lot of movement adjustments related to: the file selector dialog, the "About" dialog box, message box, adaptive Presentation dialog box and to maximize the information bar.
Web Browsing
Many improvements backporting movement, which is included in the devkit mirror. Epiphany "new tab" within the viewport and several other page has more adaptable, and has been working to promote the use of Epiphany HdyPreferencesWindow.
Users can quickly edit the CSS from the preferences of the Epiphany. Also it has been transplanted search engine management dialog.
Contacts
