Librem 5 is a user privacy and encryption at the core of free and open source Linux smartphone, which runs Debian-based GNU / Linux operating system, desktop environments KDE Plasma Mobile or GNOME Shell, running only open source applications. The project was launched in 2017, and received more than $ 1.5 million in crowdfunding , then the hardware will enter the production stage.
