After Huawei officially signed the OpenHarmony donation agreement on September 10, after more than three months of full discussion and joint efforts by the members of the OpenHarmony project group, the project group working committee was formally established.
At this meeting, the first working committee members of the OpenHarmony project group officially appeared. They are: Hubei Yigatong Technology Co., Ltd., Huawei Terminal Company, JD Group, Jiefanghao Network Technology Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Runhe Software Co., Ltd. Representatives of seven units including the company, Shanghai PATEO Yuezhen Electronic Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and the Software Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
At the meeting, the above seven companies agreed on the vision of the OpenHarmony project group: to create an open, global, innovative and leading distributed operating system for multiple smart terminals and all scenarios, and to build a sustainable open source ecosystem. At the same time, it is clear that the mission of the OpenHarmony project group is: The OpenHarmony project group hosts the core code and components of the operating system technology and architecture, and aggregates chip developers, solution developers, product developers, application developers, and other developers in an open governance manner. On this basis, the representatives of the working committee members passed unanimously and signed the OpenHarmony project management system on the spot. After full discussion, the delegates agreed to temporarily shelve the recommendation and election of the chairman candidate at this meeting; Mr. Luo Wei, recommended by the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was elected as the executive director of the program working committee, responsible for the daily management of the program. According to the OpenHarmony project management system, Mr. Du Yujie, secretary general of the Open Atom Open Source Foundation, informed the working committee that the foundation will appoint Ms. Wan Hui as the executive secretary of the OpenHarmony project working committee.
At the end of the meeting, representatives of the working committee members unanimously approved the project group name: OpenHarmony. Everyone made a detailed review of the development plan of the OpenHarmony project group in the first quarter of 2021, and conducted a preliminary discussion on the overseas development plan of the OpenHarmony project group.
