(3) Formal topics

Topic 1: Wang Zhenrong made a presentation on the HPC-Now project

The HPC-Now project was officially launched recently, and it is mainly used in the full life cycle management of the platform. The code is hosted by Gitee, and the total code is about 23,000 lines. In the future, the MIT license will be used, and core contributors will continue to be attracted. In view of the current supercomputing environment and the problems of inflexible supply of resources in use, this project will continue to improve technical efficiency and provide future-oriented cloud services for developers, service providers and end users.

The HPC-Now project hopes to expand to 50 contributors within three years through community publicity funding, participation in technology development, and community governance. The code has been completed independently and has been fully released. After the license adjustment, the project party hopes to donate the code and website to the foundation, and build a good HPC ecosystem based on the future supercomputing plan.

Topic 2: Chen Liang presented the DBS distributed block storage project

The DBS distributed block storage project intends to adopt the Apache2.0 license, which has the characteristics of a fully symmetrical distributed architecture and strong scalability. It aims to build an ecological environment for distributed storage and attract more developers and contributors. Bring more choices and comparisons to ecological partners.

Since its commercial launch in 2017, the project has regularly held developer salons, participated in various competitions, and done media promotion. It has more than 20 developers and 5 internal contributors. At the same time, the project is actively adapting to the full-stack operating system, the commercial version of the plug-in will be open source, and the integration of NFS and Samba will be released in September. The donor will subsequently register a new trademark and domain name for the donated project, update the domain name after the trademark registration process is completed, and donate the original website.

Topic 3: Liu Guo presented the OpenHarmony Incubation Report

In mid-2021, the OpenHarmony project submitted an incubation application and became the first batch of foundation-incubated projects. The project is committed to continuously increasing the number of core contributors, and improving the community security management system in terms of institutional processes and infrastructure. It is hoped that TOC will appoint a tutor to conduct a special interpretation of the graduation standards and guide the project to meet the standards.

Currently, the OpenHarmony project has released 34 versions, including 3 releases in the most recent quarter. Since the last incubation report, the OpenHarmony community has added 2,800 contributors, 10 SIGs, 108k PRs, and 28k Forks; 140 new commercial devices have passed the compatibility test, covering finance, education, transportation and other fields. Relying on the community safety committee's copper leakage reward plan, among the 15,014 safety issues (restricted disclosure) in the community, there are still 615 to be resolved.

The TOC feedback community should focus on the apparent lack of diversity.
