Fibocom joins hands with Neusoft Electronics and Brilliance Automotive to complete 2020 C-V2X "New Four Cross" large-scale testing

In October 2020, in order to further accelerate the pace of large-scale commercialization of C-V2X, under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the China Intelligent Networked Automobile Industry Innovation Alliance, the C-V2X Working Group of the IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group, and the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineering ( SAECCE), Shanghai International Automobile City (Group) Co., Ltd., China Academy of Surveying and Mapping, and Ministry of Transportation Highway Research Institute jointly sponsored 2020 C-V2X "New Four Crossings" and large-scale pilot application demonstration activities at Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center Kicked off. As a provider of vehicle-level wireless communication modules, Fibocom joined hands with Neusoft Electronics and Brilliance Automotive to participate in large-scale function and performance testing and "new four-span" demonstrations, and successfully passed the verification test.

New four-span demo site

The test is divided into two parts, the "new four-span" interconnection application demonstration and the large-scale test. It is to realize the domestic C-V2X application demonstration of "cross-chip modules, cross-terminals, cross-vehicles, cross-security platforms, and cross-image providers". During the "four-span" pre-test period, the vehicle provider Brilliance Automotive, the protocol stack provider Neusoft Electronics, and the vehicle-level wireless communication module provider Fibocom jointly participated, and the Guanghe Auto-standard module AX168 successfully passed The "four-span" activity protocol conformance test organized by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology realized the interconnection and intercommunication of the PC5 access layer, network layer, message layer, and communication security stack protocol. Passing this test indicates that the C-V2X vehicle-level module AX168 series products independently developed by Fibocom have met the relevant requirements of the "four-span" activity in terms of protocol consistency and communication safety certification mechanism.

AX168 C-V2X module

Fibocom AX168-GL is an automotive-grade C-V2X module for the global market. The main chip integrates dual-core ARM Cortex A7 application CPU and safety CAN MCU. It meets the second level of AEC Q-100 standard and adopts high temperature manufacturing process. It integrates mobile-optimized IEEE802.11p DSRC and C-V2X direct communication (PC5) interfaces, and a built-in ultra-low latency V2X hardware security encryption chip eHSM.

Based on 3GPP R15 technology, compatible with LTE-V2X direct communication, it supports vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) and vehicle-to-person (V2P) communications on the unified 5.9GHz ITS frequency band. Meet vehicle communication requirements with low delay, high reliability and high throughput. AX168-GL provides a wealth of interfaces, pre-integrated software, customers can easily develop applications. AX168-GL provides support for global V2X communication solutions to meet the application needs of enhanced driving safety, autonomous driving, intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The "new four-span" conformance test is the prerequisite foundation for large-scale formal drive testing, which aims to verify the interconnection and interoperability of the bottom layer of equipment from various manufacturers to ensure the smooth operation of the "new four-span" upper-level applications. This large-scale test mainly demonstrates the function and performance tests of several main V2X scenarios, such as V2V (forward collision warning, crossing traffic), V2I (red light warning, road hazard warning, warning MEC for vulnerable traffic participants), etc. The test was Test the communication performance and congestion control between the unit and the background workshop. Fibocom is based on in-vehicle communication modules in the field of Internet of Vehicles, and is also investing in research and development in the fields of OBU in-vehicle units and RSU roadside units to provide customers with high-performance and highly integrated C-V2X solutions.
