Debian is a branch Devuan 2.1.0 ASCII release

Distance Devuan GNU / Linux 2.0 "ASCII" series released operating system has passed a year and a half. Recently, Dyne.org Foundation has finally announced the general availability of Devuan GNU / Linux 2.x "ASCII" first point release of the operating system family. Devuan is a branch of Debian developers chose to use Debian because of dissatisfaction with the system initialization systemd systemd created without the use of release.

Devuan GNU / Linux 2.1 adds the latest software and security updates, as well as various improvements setup and installation media around.

It is reported that, Devuan GNU / Linux 2.1 is still based on  Debian  the GNU / Linux 9 "the Stretch" family of operating systems, with an improved installation program, so that the choice OpenRC init system option more prominent. But if you want to exclude the non-free firmware or other boot loader (eg LILO), then still require expert installation options. In addition, it is now recommended default image is deb.devuan.org.

  • linux-image-4.9.0-9 (4.9.168-1 + deb9u4) fixes multiple vulnerabilities
  • firefox-esr (60.8.0esr-1~deb9u1) Fixes Multiple Vulnerabilities
  • policykit-1 fix CVE-2018-19788 and CVE-2019-6133

Other changes:

  • dbus patches, generate a new machine ID dbus at boot time. This behavior can be configured in / etc / default / dbus in
  • Add the memtest86 +, lvm2 and mdadm to Live ISO
