Fedora 31 Beta release, the kernel no longer supports i686

Fedora 31 Beta has been released, Fedora 31 will be released in late October.

This version highlights are as follows:

  • GNOME 3.34  Desktop
  • Fedora IoT Edition: in addition to workstations, servers and CoreOS, now add a Fedora Things
  • Fedora CoreOS: Fedora CoreOS still is a preview state, plans to release a generic version early next year

  • Support cGroups v2, provides the latest features and functionality of kernel-level support for the basic package Fedora 31 Beta in the cgroup

  • The RPM zstd switched to compression to reduce the time required for compression

  • Support RPM 4.15, Fedora enhanced performance and stability

Fedora 31 ending support for hardware running on Fedora i 686, but can still run 32-bit software on Fedora x86_64. Fedora 31 Beta package contains updated versions, such as Node.js, Go language, Python and Perl. At the same time the underlying infrastructure software has been updated, such as the GNU C Library and RPM Package Manager, see the complete list .
