GNOME 3.35.90 released as a Beta version of GNOME 3.36

As the first two versions of GNOME 3.36 in the beta version, GNOME 3.35.90 has completed publication . This also marks the UI and feature freeze.

This version includes some of the highlights are:

  • A lot of GNOME Shell and Mutter improvements.
  • Cantarell fonts for various design improvements.
  • Improved image viewer Eye of GNOME keyboard shortcuts.
  • Epiphany Web Browser has preferences change, crash repair, support the use of the file selector opens PDF, improved keyboard shortcuts and other features.
  • By default, Gedit enabled more features, such as automatic identification, display line numbers, highlight the current line, bracket matching, and the default style scheme is changed to Tango.
  • Since migrating from SpiderMonkey 60 to SpiderMonkey 68 ESR, GJS has a new JavaScript features, including support for BigInt data types, such as a new API.
  • GNOME Boxes Virtualization Manager now allows users to change the number of vCPU, updated keyboard shortcuts and other enhancements.
  • GNOME calculator keyboard shortcuts in this cycle update also maintained this trend.
  • GNOME certain areas improved initial settings and other improvements.
  • Google GVFS the code now supports Move / copy operations and other improvements.
  • Nautilus File Manager now supports the numeric keypad to zoom.

According to the plan, the release candidate will be released at the end of February. If all goes well, GNOME 3.36.0 is to be released March 11.
