1 Install beautification software

1.1 Update software source

Before starting to install the software tool, we open the terminal and enter the command to update the software source to ensure that the software we install later is the latest version.

sudo apt-get update

1.2 Install tweak tool

Ubuntu Tweak is a configuration and adjustment tool specially prepared for Ubuntu (GNOME desktop) . Mainly for novice-level ordinary users. It can set many hidden options that cannot be set in the system preferences to satisfy user customization fun. Even a novice can easily make system adjustments that suit him or her.

Follow the previous step in the terminal and enter the command to install the tweak tool:

sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool

1.3 Install gnome extension module

Enter the command to install the gnome extension module and use tweak to achieve beautification.

sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions

1.4 tweak pre-configuration

(1) After the gnome extension module is installed, restart the virtual machine ;

(2) Open " Show Applications " in the lower left corner -> enter " Tweaks " in the search box -> double-click the Tweaks application icon;

(3) Select " Extensions " -> pull down to open " User themes ";

2 Theme beautification

2.1 Theme download

2.2 Theme settings

(1) Create a new theme folder ;

In the user root directory, use the Ctrl + H shortcut keys to display hidden files and folders, and then create a new .themes theme folder.

(2) Unzip the downloaded Ant.tar.xz software package, and then cut all the unzipped files into the .themes theme folder;

(3) Open the Tweaks software, select “ Appearance—> pull down “ Applications ” and select “ Ant—> pull down “ Shell ” and select “ Ant ”;

3.2 Icon settings

4 Taskbar beautification

4.1 Install extensions

(1) Open the Firefox browser, enter the URL GNOME Shell Extensions , and install the browser extension according to the prompts;

There are many plug-ins available on the website, and installing an extension on the browser will install the plug-in directly on the browser.

4.2 Install plug-ins

(1) After the extension is installed successfully, enter " Dash to Panel " in the search box;

(2) Click to enter the interface and click on the left side of " OFF " to install the plug-in;

(3) After the plug-in is successfully installed, the taskbar moves from the left side of the desktop to the bottom of the desktop;

(4) Right-click the blank area of ​​the taskbar and select " Dash to Panel Settings ";
