Install VMware
1. Double-click the VMware installation package downloaded above, wait until it is loaded, and click [Next].
2. Check [I accept the terms of the license agreement] and click [Next].
3. Change the installation location. The default is C drive, but it is strongly not recommended to install C drive. Click [Change...].
4. Select the installation location (it is recommended that the folder names in the installation path be all in English) and click [OK].
5. Click [Next].
6. Uncheck [Check at startup...] and [Join VMware...] and click [Next].
7. Click [Next].
8. Click [Install].
9. Installing..., please wait patiently for a while.
10. Click [License] (you can also click to complete here. If you do not need a license key, the software generally only has a 30-day trial period).
11. Enter the license key (please obtain the key yourself, there are many) and click [Enter].
12. Click [Finish] to complete the installation.
Install Ubuntu
1. Open the virtual machine and choose to create a new virtual machine
2. Select the default typical and next step
3. Select the Ubuntu image file we just downloaded in the browser, next step
4. Fill in the relevant information, the account name and user name can be the same, next step
5. Select the location you want to install. You can also modify the name of your virtual machine in this step. Here I choose the default one.
6. Select the size of the disk capacity. Here, at least 20G or more is selected. I chose 40G, which can basically satisfy our subsequent installation and learning of various ROS software. Others can be kept at default. Next step
7. There is no need to make any modifications, just click Finish. There will be a long wait. This process takes a long time, so please be patient.
8. At this point, it means that the installation is almost complete, and it is started.
9. The following indicates that the startup is completed. Enter the password to open it.
10. After opening the interface, do not update any update prompts that pop up. For What's new in Ubuntu, click Next and finally Done.
At this point, the Ubuntu installation has been completed.
