2. Global rough diamond production distribution
The total global production of rough diamonds in 2021 will be 116 million carats, a year-on-year increase of 5%, but lower than that of 2019; it is expected that global production of rough diamonds will not return to the level of 2019 in the next five to two years. Total global diamond production is expected to reach 120 million carats in 2022, still lower than in 2019 (139 million carats).
