On July 26th, the 16th National College Student Conference was sponsored by the Ministry of Education’s Cyberspace Security Professional Teaching Steering Committee, jointly organized by the National University of Defense Technology and the University of Science and Technology of China, and supported by a technical platform provided by Nanjing Saining Information Technology Co., Ltd. The National Finals of the Information Security Competition-Innovative Practice Ability Competition ended successfully in Hefei, Anhui.
1. Network security experts gathered at the finals of the national competition
On the morning of July 25th, the National Finals of the 16th National University Student Information Security Competition-Innovative Practice Ability Competition was grandly opened in Hefei, Anhui. The competition aims to thoroughly implement the strategic thinking of building a cyber power, actively respond to the national cyberspace security talent strategy, promote the cultivation of cyberspace security talents and build an ecosystem of industry-university-research applications.
At the same time as the final, the "Cyberspace Security Talent Innovation Ability Cultivation Forum" and "Cyberspace Security Experimental Zone Seminar" were held at the same time. Hefei City Government Units, High-tech Enterprises, Related College Leaders, Experts and Scholars in Anhui Province came to the site to conduct Discussion and exchange. Among them, Zhuge Jianwei, the founder of the XCTF International Network Attack and Defense League and an associate researcher at the Internet Research Institute of Tsinghua University, shared relevant topics at the forum. Topics such as network security talent training and capacity improvement, and how to deeply integrate industrial education technology.
2. The competition system has been fully upgraded to create a new benchmark for the competition of cultivating cybersecurity talents
The finals adopted the competition mode of CTF problem-solving competition, AWD offensive and defensive competition and comprehensive penetration competition. In the setting of competition questions, innovatively introduce hot issues in cutting-edge fields such as cyberspace surveying and mapping, artificial intelligence security, and quantum security. During the whole competition, Saining Network Security provided competition system design, technical platform construction and competition guarantee services.
This competition comprehensively examines the comprehensive security capabilities of participating students in vulnerability mining, vulnerability utilization, vulnerability repair, traffic analysis, and teamwork from multiple aspects. Comprehensively cultivate students' innovation awareness and teamwork spirit, popularize information security knowledge, enhance students' information security awareness, improve students' cyberspace security innovation ability and practical skills, and realize competition to promote learning, competition to promote teaching, and competition to promote application.
3. The peak matchup in the final rankings witnesses the growth of cybersecurity talents
The competition started in April and lasted 4 months. It was divided into three stages: online preliminary competition, offline regional competition and national finals. It attracted more than 500 colleges and universities and 2494 teams from across the country, with a total of 8242 participants. The participating universities, participating teams, and the number of participants have all reached new highs.
A total of 80 elite teams were shortlisted for the finals. After fierce competition, the Tianshu Dubhe team from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications finally won the top spot, the sign-up-me-run team from Yuanpei College of Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences and the Jiangsu Safety Technology Vocational College team The TMZ team won the second and third place respectively. In addition, this competition also selected 20 outstanding teams to win individual awards for network security challenge innovation.
4. The experience of running competitions in a row, Saining boosts the innovation and actual combat ability of network security talents
This competition also opened a network security industry exhibition event integrating production and education, and invited many network security experts and well-known university scholars to visit.
