As early as May this year, I went to Tianjin University of Technology with NXP Teacher Liang and Teacher Zhang to discuss the MicroPython Challenge activities with Teacher Xiong and Teacher Gao, and prepare for the integration of MicroPython into next year's competition questions. At the same time, the layout of the Tianjin Polytechnic University’s finals venue and the venue setting plan were also discussed. 2. Subdivision competitions
After the competition in each division, in early August, together with the organizing committee teachers Zhuo and Wang, Infineon staff manager Chen, and Baidu staff manager Li, they went to Tianjin University of Technology to conduct detailed preparations for the finals. Discussions and plans, including the organizing committee’s inspection of the venue, the layout of the venue, the competition process, the specific competition time, the time of the Infineon Cup and LED light show selection activities, the format of the MicroPython Challenge, and the needs of the creative competition venue, Comprehensive discussions were conducted and details were determined on various aspects such as the schedule of various meetings such as the extended meeting of the team leaders, live broadcast of the event, and publicity reports. The finals competition guide released by Teacher Zhuo in the following days was based on the discussion results of this pre-game preparation meeting. It can be seen that the organizing committee and organizers attach great importance to this largest national finals in history, and have made preparations in advance to welcome 508 finals teams from 252 universities across the country, and Baidu Creative Team. 53 teams in the finals, a total of 561 teams competed in the final competition at Tianjin University of Technology. 三、总决赛筹办

四、赛道铺设

In order to facilitate the work these days, we stayed at the International Academic Exchange Center Hotel within the school. After checking in, we immediately contacted Teacher Xiong and Teacher Gao to go to the venue. Because the paving of the indoor track also started on the 15th, we also deliberately chose to arrive on this day, hoping to provide some help with the layout and paving of the track from the beginning.
After entering the main stadium, we noticed that the volunteer students had already started laying the blue background. About two-thirds of the blue background cloth in the main stadium had been laid. The blue background of the auxiliary stadium had basically been laid. At this time, we first encountered a problem. Because the venue area is large, the overlapping seams of the background cloth were amplified by errors, which caused us to worry about insufficient materials later. Fortunately, we reserved some margin in the supply calculation. , ·The volunteers were also told later to adjust the overlap of the seams, and through real-time adjustments, they were basically just enough in the end.
After the background cloth was laid, Teacher Ji, who was in charge of the venue, discussed with us the laying of the track in the evening, the laying method, the laying process, etc. Because this is the most critical link, everyone who comes to compete must hope that the track is in accordance with the standards. Paved, ·So this is why we came here early, to ensure that the layout of the stadium is standard and standardized, - This is also the top priority why Teacher Xiong invited us to help. So we decided to lay a model track with the students on the night of the 15th. At the same time, we also explained the methods and precautions of laying the track to all the volunteers who laid the track. -Fortunately, we made the track laying in advance. After making the plan, Teacher Gao arranged for us to go to the food street outside the school to have dinner first. Time was tight, so we went to a more unique Korean bibimbap, thinking that it would be easier and faster. What we didn’t expect was this. The bibimbap is a casserole type. It is very hot and I want to finish it quickly. It is so hot that my colleague Jay's hands were blistered. It adds a little fun to the stressful work. After dinner, we quickly returned to the main venue and began to organize the students to learn how to lay the track, and then started laying the model track.
The volunteers who lay the track are the referee volunteers in charge of their own group, so the workload of this part of the volunteers is relatively large, and the work content is relatively more complicated. They not only have to lay the track, but also serve as referees during the competition. There is also a lot of pressure when being a referee, and I am very grateful to them for their efforts, otherwise such a large workload cannot be completed by just a few people. In this finals, two tracks were laid for each category, and the visual team also drew two more debugging venues. A total of 12 PVC tracks were laid indoors, two visual group competition venues, and two visual group debugging venues. And the track is not short. According to the organizing committee’s drawings, the preliminaries track is 61.5 meters long. Although it is easier for outdoor volunteers to lay the track, they still need to serve everyone for two or three days in the hot summer weather. After the volunteer classmates completed the cleaning work of the background cloth, Teacher Gao and I first determined the laying position of the track according to the design drawings, marked it, and then organized volunteers to mark the remaining positions according to our positioning method, and then Use fencing to first frame the location where the track needs to be laid. We organized the students in the electric relay group to start laying a sample track together. Because we had arranged to watch a video of track laying in advance, the students were familiar with the basic process of laying the track. To be clear, first find the track elements according to the drawings and lay out the track graphics. This step is relatively simple, like playing a large jigsaw puzzle. Then start from the relatively fixed garage to connect and fix the track. What needs to be paid attention to is the paving of the ramp, because the length of the track will change a little after adding the ramp, so the closing point needs to be left where the ramp is placed. On the straight track, we demonstrate the key points of track closing and ramp paving. It is necessary to cut a small section from the spare track material to complete the installation of the ramp. The next work of laying the black tape needs to be more detailed, especially on the curves. We also conducted a demonstration operation on this work. The students were not very skilled at the beginning. In order to paste it well, it was relatively slow, but the further it went, the faster it became. But the overall time was still delayed. On the first night, the uncle from Tianjin came to urge us. I think at that time he must not have thought that he would trouble him in the next few nights to urge us, Ma Liuer, until the preliminaries. At the end of the night, the uncle stopped urging us and even started to be moved. I still remember his exact words, you are not working here, you are risking your life!
Indeed, starting from the 15th, the four of us had to work until late every day on the 16th, 17th and 18th before leaving the venue. In the next two nights, we could only rest for more than 4 hours. Teacher Xiong and Teacher Gao also basically The same, the purpose is to provide everyone with the best possible competition venue. But we didn’t dare to bother “Uncle” too much on the first night. In order to prevent “Uncle” from hating us in the first place, we made sure to leave the venue on time at 23:30 on the first night. Fortunately, we didn’t have time to lay the electromagnetic wires. The first sample track is basically completed, providing an intuitive reference example for other groups of volunteers to lay the track the next day.
5. Referee training

In order to complete the drawing of coordinate points more efficiently and standardly, the students also made preparations in advance. Some made molds for drawing coordinate points, and some brought thin lines to calibrate each line to prevent errors from amplifying. Because the visual team needed to draw four venues, different students also thought about their own favorite methods. Although the methods were different, in the end everyone completed the layout of two competition venues and two debugging venues in a very standard way, with a total of 2,750 venues. The coordinate points were indeed hard enough. Even the vision team with the largest number of volunteers worked hard all day long until night.
After the track laying is basically completed, the referee timing system will be distributed to each group. We will take the volunteers to install and test them one by one. At the same time, we will install the relevant host computer software and train the operators to use it, because there are eight previous With the experience of this competition area, this part of the work is still very efficient, and thanks to the simple steps of using the software, the training of timekeepers and the installation and debugging of the large screen were completed relatively quickly.
Most of the track laying was completed during the day, and a few were completed at night. So after dinner, Teacher Gao and I organized the referee volunteers who had first completed the track laying to judge the penalties for each group. training. The first step is to train the referees of the two groups in the auxiliary venue: the negative pressure electromagnetic team and the professional electromagnetic team, because the lights must be turned off first, and then the other groups in the main venue are trained. The main venue has divided the work, and other games The training of the road racing group was divided into one group, and was in charge of Teacher Gao; the training of the visual group was conducted by us, and several methods of how the visual group quickly placed the picture target board were experimented and trained, and the final training The first round of placement basically only takes more than a minute, which is very impressive. During the drill, each group of timekeepers also practiced the use of the referee system. After the actual operation, the timekeepers became more proficient.
While Teacher Gao, Brother Kang and I were training various groups of indoor referees, Hunter and Jay organized the outdoor referee team to assemble and debug the laser timer. In order to allow the referee volunteers to go back and rest early, they carried out After the penalty training and several rounds of drills, the referees went back to rest. After the referees left, we continued to complete the installation and testing of the laser timer. Finally, all the tracks were inspected, mainly focusing on the white tape sticking the electromagnetic wires stretched on the slopes and whether the electromagnetic wires were laid in other places in a standardized manner. Some slopes that were not reinforced with the track were inspected. The road was reinforced, and after finishing everything, it was after midnight again, and I was really tired. Because the next day is the time for the teams to participate in the national finals to register, so the work related to the indoor track layout must be completed today. On the day of registration, there will also be test runs for the outdoor group, so after finishing I quickly woke up the venue manager Uncle Tianjin who had fallen asleep to help us open the door and let us out.
6. Reporting
On the 17th, we officially began to welcome riders from all over the country to register. The registration office is also located in the International Academic Exchange Center. When we went downstairs early in the morning, we saw that the volunteer students responsible for registration were starting to get busy. Teams from each school also Registration has begun one after another. Registration is by group, so when registering, the competition order of each team was drawn. This year’s national competition also prepared competition shirts and participation certificates for the participating students in each group. Tournament Guide. Teams that participate in the national competition after completing the registration can also register for the MicroPython Live Challenge. I happened to pass by and asked the volunteers how many people had signed up. The girl mistakenly thought that I wanted to sign up. After understanding the situation, I had to rush again. Went to the outdoor venue.
So we rode the hello bikes to the venue again. As soon as we arrived, Teacher Gao called and said that he had encountered some problems. Some teams thought that the sound of the cross-country team would affect the sound beacon recognition of the beacon team. Contact Gao. Can the teacher adjust the position of the sound beacon? In line with the principle of serving every team that comes to participate, Teacher Gao took us to the stadium for inspection and discussion. Several issues are involved here. It was only at the dinner table that I realized that this female teacher was the boss of this college, and I noticed that the leaders at all levels of the School of Control Science and Engineering, which hosted the finals, seemed to be female teachers. I realized that except for Teacher Gao, the outdoor venue Except for the two teachers in the visual group, the other teachers involved in the preparation work including the dean, secretary, deputy secretary, and teachers responsible for each link and venue are all female teachers. Recalling this lunch, I have to mention the unique freshly brewed beer in Tianjin. It has various flavors and is delicious and unique. In line with the hot weather, I drank a few more flavors with greed, forgetting my own insatiable taste. After a few drinks, I felt dizzy. After lunch, we needed to prepare for a new task, which was to lay the debugging venue for the on-site challenge. Because there are official competitions in venues 18 and 19, the challenge needs For debugging and preparation, Teacher Gao specially found a semi-open space that could shelter from the rain in advance, so that he could debug even at night, which was very thoughtful. So we brought the required materials and loaded them into Teacher Gao’s car, which took us to the library by the lake to lay the challenge venue. Because there were no dedicated volunteers arranged in advance for this part of the work, in order to arrange the venue as quickly as possible, Teacher Gao also specially found helpers, namely his own team members and team members from Taiyuan Engineering to help, and several friends. They were all very good, so Brother Kang was left to take these friends to set up the challenge and debug the venue. Teacher Gao and I went to the academic center to attend the team leadership meeting.
8. Team leadership meeting
When we arrived, there were already many students waiting at the venue, and there were only a few seats left, so we quickly found a seat to sit down. The team leadership meeting started at 17:00, and as the time approached, teachers and students came to the team leadership meeting. There were more and more people, and soon I couldn’t stand anymore. I remember the time I came to Tiangong University with Teacher Zhuo in early August. Teacher Xiong also specifically introduced that this is the largest hall in the school. Considering the scale of the finals and the large number of people, I remember Teacher Zhuo also said at that time that this must be the case. It's enough. I didn't expect it to be full before the leader's meeting started. This shows that everyone attaches great importance to this finals and is afraid of missing any details.
Because the lottery has been completed during registration, this team leader meeting will mainly be conducted by Teacher Zhuo to introduce the competition process and key points of the rules of this finals and answer the students’ related questions, because the hall is indeed very large and there are many people, especially those in the back. 9. Expanded meeting
After the team leadership meeting, Teacher Xiong took Teacher Zhuo and me to the International Academic Exchange Center for dinner, mainly to invite the teachers and leaders of the host schools in each division, and to express gratitude to the work of the host schools from the perspective of the organizing committee. After the enlarged meeting, I went to the competition venue with the organizing committee teachers Zhuo, Wang, and Ma, as well as teachers Xiong and Gao from Tiangong University. The registration status was compiled by Teacher Gao and the registration list was then discussed with Teacher Zhuo on how to select the team, considering that some registered teams may not be fully prepared. For example, at the team leadership meeting, I heard some teams say that they had not prepared many car models, etc., so the final consideration was to communicate with the participating teams first about whether they had prepared the necessary car models, tools, etc. for the preliminary election. 10. Scam calls
What’s more interesting is that after making this wave of calls, several of our phone calls were automatically determined to be suspected telecom fraud numbers. Outgoing calls were restricted and we could only answer calls, which caused some trouble for communication in the next few days. , I can only open WeChat and make voice calls inefficiently. This intelligent judgment is a bit too unintelligent, and it is quite troublesome to remove the need to bring your ID card to the business hall. Technical means need to be improved. Finally, a few of us checked the indoor track again and conducted a final test on the timing system. After everything was ready, we left the venue with the teachers. Maybe it was because I had been preparing for so many days, and I was a little excited that it was really going to start early the next morning; or maybe it was because I had been preparing for so many days. 11. Preliminary round
The alarm clock rang on time at 5:20 the next morning. To be honest, I felt a little unable to get up. However, the outdoor group started the competition at 6:00, so I had to rush there in advance and conduct a pre-match confirmation with the referee and timekeeper. We felt at ease, so after arriving at the scene, we first checked whether the timing systems of the four venues were correctly placed and tested them. We also confirmed with the referees how to recover if the timers were knocked crooked by a car. The referees had all trained in advance. Yes, everything is fine. After a while, Teacher Zhuo also came to the outdoor competition site. From the eyes and voice of Teacher Zhuo, it could be judged that he had not had enough rest, but he was full of energy.
