Suggestions for simplifying the competition track of the 18th National College Student Smart Car Competition

01 track simplification

I. Introduction

Judging from the results of competitions in sub-divisions (Northeast, South China, and North China), the overall completion rate of participating teams this year is relatively low, and there may be many specific reasons for this. In order to allow more car model works of participating teams to have competition results during the competition in each division, and to determine the awards of participating teams in a relatively objective way, the following suggestions are given in terms of competition organization process, track tasks, and performance records. For the reference of each division in organizing the competition.

2. Track simplification

1. Preliminary race track

  (1) In the electric power relay, the unicycle will not set up crossing roadblocks or ramps during the preliminaries; ramps will be added in the finals;
  (2) For the electromagnetic group and camera group, no crossing roadblocks will be set up in the preliminaries, but ramps will be set up.
  (3) For the break-off area on the track, fill up the two corners, leaving only the middle as the break-off area. As shown below. For the specialized electromagnetic and negative pressure electromagnetic groups, the breakout area can still maintain the form of the original track breakout area, and there is no need to fill in the corners.

▲ 图1.2.1 缩短后的断路区

  (4) For the outdoor cross-country bicycle group, no ramps are set up, and the number of cones is reduced to two. If there is no final, but only a preliminaries, three cones should be kept, and it is not recommended to set up ramps.

2. The final track

Due to the simplification of the preliminary track, the final track will no longer follow the original track deployment document. Just do the following fine-tuning. See the table below for details.

serial number Question Group Changes to the final track
1 Specialist Electromagnetic
Negative Pressure Electromagnetic
Add a cross barricade
2 camera group Add a cross-cut roadblock and restore the original cut-off area.
3 power relay Add a cross barricade, add a ramp, and restore the original breakaway area.
4 Unicycle set Add a cross barricade, add a ramp
5 full model set No changes can be made to the track, or the existing added areas can be mutually adjusted
6 Intelligent Vision Group According to the competition process, the classification task is changed to six categories
7 Extreme off-road group Modify according to the previous document
8 Cyclocross Modify according to the previous document
9 sound beacon Modify according to the original document

3. Competition Process

In order to increase the debugging and competition time for students on the field, for the outdoor cycling cross-country group, extreme speed cross-country group, or some indoor competition groups, you can refer to the following batch competition mode to organize competitions. Now take the cross-country cycling group as an example for illustration.

Previously, it was assumed that the cycling time for each cross-country group was 15 minutes. The batch competition mode is to invite three teams to enter the competition field at the same time each time, and their total competition time is 45 minutes. Within forty-five minutes, they simultaneously prepared off-site hardware, collected GPS data, and modified software. Once a team is ready to start, other teams temporarily leave the field and wait for the team to start the race.

During this period, referees can follow the normal game process for timing and making penalties. Just need to pay attention not to confuse the names of the official competition teams.

For indoor electromagnetic, camera, double car, unicycle, electric power relay, complete model and other groups, you can also refer to the above batch competition mode. Sound beacons are special and prone to interference, so batch competition mode is not recommended.

4. Statistics

1. Rescue storage

For the competition problem groups that need to go out of the warehouse and enter the warehouse for the indoor competition car models, after the departure, the participating team members are allowed to rescue and enter the warehouse .

  (1) Rescue warehousing means that the car model does not complete warehousing normally after running for a week, triggering the timing system to stop timing. At this time, the team members are required to actively stop the running car model, put the car model into the garage with their hands, and trigger the timing system.

  (2) If rescue is carried out, the game is still considered to be completed normally. The game time is the time displayed when the timing system stops timing, plus a penalty of 30 seconds .

  (3) If the participating team members do not have time to carry out rescue and warehousing, the competition will fail.

2. Competition sub-scores

According to the statistics of the competition results of the previous three sub-divisions, there will be a large proportion of teams that cannot complete the preliminaries. It may not be possible to confirm the first, second and third prize teams in each competition area. For teams that have not completed the preliminaries, under normal circumstances, there will be a make-up match , that is, a re-match on a simplified track. For the team that completes the match, the winner of the competition area will be awarded . In view of the fact that there are many teams that have not completed the competition this year, it is suggested that during the competition, the referees need to record the score details of the preliminaries completed by the car models when recording the results of the competition . For teams that have not completed the preliminaries, the first prize, second prize, third prize, and winning prize of the sub-competition area will be supplemented according to the score details after the competition. Can no longer make up games.

Due to the different tasks of each competition group, the scoring details will also vary. You can refer to the competition details in the competition record form of the "North China Division" to record the scores of the participating teams.

For teams that have not finished the preliminaries, determine the corresponding first prize, second prize, and third prize standards based on the sub-scores of the competition, and each group can formulate corresponding standards for division according to the distribution of scores.
