VMware installation Windows server 2016

1. Open VMware and click Create New Virtual Machine.                                                                                         

2. Select a typical configuration and proceed to the next step.                                                                                                   

 

3. Choose to install the operating system later, and proceed to the next step.                                                                                    

 

4. Select Microsoft Windows(W) for the client operating system, select Windows server 2016 for the version, and proceed to the next step.  

5. Virtual machine name (custom), location (custom, but system disk is not recommended), click Next.                              

6. The size of the disk is 60G (here is not occupied directly but gradually takes up storage space during use, so it does not matter if it is not enough 60G, you can fill in 60G first, and expand later), and then choose to split the virtual disk into multiple files, and proceed to the next step.

7. Click Finish.

 

8. Click Edit Virtual Machine Settings.                                                                                                                

 9. Change the allocated memory and processor as required, here change to: memory 2GB, processor 2.

10. After clicking CD/DVD, click Use ISO image file, click Browse, and select the corresponding ISO image file.

11. Click the printer, click Remove, and click OK.

 12. Click to start this virtual machine.                                                                                                                  

  13. Enter the installation interface, select as shown in the figure (actually the default *-*), click Next.                                            

14. Click I don't have a product key.                                                                                                               

15. Select Windows server 2016 standard (desktop experience), and click Next. (desktop experience means ui interface) 

16. Click to agree to the license terms and proceed to the next step.                                                                                         

17. Click Custom: Install Windows only and wait for the installation.                                                                               

 18. Click Restart Now.                                                                                                                         

19. Set the Administrator user password and click Finish.                                                                              

20. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to unlock.                                                                                                           

21. Enter the password to log in.                                                                                                                         

22. Click the prompt below to install Tools.                                                                                                         

23. There must be some people here who do not have this prompt or have clicked off the prompt by themselves. (*-*) If there is no such prompt, please restart the virtual machine, and quickly right-click (Ctrl+Alt to release the mouse) above the virtual machine at the moment of restart and click to reinstall VMware-Tools (if the option is gray and cannot be selected, please restart and try)                                                                                      

24. Find the mouse of this computer (double-click the garbage bin, click this computer), then double-click the DVD drive to enter VMware-Tools, and then double-click the setup file to install.                                                                                                                     

25. Click Next.                                                                                                                            

26. Select Typical installation and click Next.                                                                                                

27. Click Install.                                                                                                                                 

28. Click Finish.                                                                                                                                 

29. Click Yes to restart the computer.
