Topic: Software Engineering in the Age of Intelligence: The Correct Posture to Embrace Large Models

Guest: Peng Xin | Deputy Dean, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, School of Computer Science and Technology, Fudan University
Speech time: 9:00-9:30
Introduction to the topic: The large-scale model technology represented by ChatGPT has brought a huge impact to many fields including software engineering, and has also caused widespread anxiety. In order to see a clear direction in the fog, recently we have been discussing and thinking about the proposition of "software engineering in the era of large models" based on various technical literature and practice sharing, as well as some of our own preliminary explorations. Embracing large models should be a correct and even necessary direction for both software engineering academia and industry, but how to realize systematic and comprehensive software intelligent development still requires calm thinking, and there is still a lot of basic work to be done. This report will share some of our preliminary understandings and our outlook on future development directions.

Topic: From code-specific AI to code-integrated general AI

Guest: Duan Nan | Chief Researcher of Microsoft Research Asia
Speech time: 9:30-10:00
Topic Introduction: ChatGPT and GPT-4 open the door to general artificial intelligence (AGI). Code plays a vital role in these underlying models. This report will start with the artificial intelligence models designed for code tasks (AI models for code tasks), talk about the foundation models with code data integration (foundation models with code), and finally introduce the TaskMatrix architecture we proposed for building AGI. We have done a good job of open-sourcing the work involved in the entire report, hoping to promote the development of the field of AI for Code and promote the exploration of key technologies of AGI with Code.

Topic: New Paradigm of Software Development under Software Engineering 3.0

Guest: Zhu Shaomin | Distinguished Professor of Tongji University, Definer of "Software Engineering 3.0"
Speech time: 10:00-10:30
Introduction to the topic : (1) From Software Engineering 1.0 to Software Engineering 3.0 (SE3.0); (2) The new form of SE3.0; (3) The new development paradigm of SE3.0; (4) How will programming under the new paradigm (5) How enterprises can make better use of the new paradigm; (6) Future prospects and challenges.

Topic: Solution and Application of Huawei Code Large Model

Guests: Ma Yuchi | Ph.D., HUAWEI CLOUD Dev AI Lab Leader, Intelligent R&D Algorithm Technical Expert
Speech time: 10:30-11:00
Introduction to topics: (1) AIGC for SE's industry insights; (2) Huawei's large-scale code model solutions and applications; (3) Key issues and technical challenges of large-scale code models; (4) Opportunities and prospects of AIGC for SE.

Topic: Code Intelligence: The Path of Exploration from Task-Specific Models to General Large Models

Guest: Wang Yanlin | Assistant Professor and Master Supervisor, School of Software Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University
Speech Time: 11:00-11:30
Introduction to the topic : In this sharing, we will discuss the exploration process and its future trends on tasks related to code intelligence in the field of software engineering, including three main parts: (1) The road of exploration on task-specific models: in this part , will review several of our works on task-specific models, including their core ideas and achievements in solving specific programming tasks; (2) The exploration of general models in the field of soft engineering: this section will discuss Requirements and preliminary explorations for the transition to a general model; (3) Future exploration: In the last part, we will explore the possibility of combining the two and look forward to the future development trend of code intelligence research.
