Speaker: Zhao Ran| Ph.D., Senior Engineer of HUAWEI CLOUD, Member of KubeEdge Community
Topic introduction: KubeEdge is an open source platform for cloud-native edge computing based on Kubernetes, and has become an incubation project of CNCF. KubeEdge supports cloud-side application collaboration in a complex edge-cloud network environment, and provides an edge device management framework (DMI), which supports edge device management of multiple protocols in the form of a cloud-native digital twin model. This topic introduces DMI, the device management framework of KubeEdge. Under the design of the DMI framework, devices are no longer pure data sources, but are abstracted into microservices to provide data services for device data consumers in a cloud-native manner. Device data access under the DMI framework supports multiple scenarios and is very flexible. The DMI framework can provide strong support for cloud-native management of edge smart devices based on KubeEdge. This topic is a two-person topic, shared with Liu Chenlin, a R&D engineer of Shanghai Daoke Network Technology Co., Ltd. and a member of the KubeEdge community.
