From March 23 to May 20, 2022, Moonbeam Foundation, DoraHacks and Huobi Incubator will officially launch the Moonriver Virtual Hackathon.
The Moonriver Grant Hackathon will provide $150,000 to developers participating in the Moonriver or Moonbase Alpha testnets.
Moonriver is a fully Ethereum-compatible smart contract platform on Kusama. This Ethereum-compatible feature allows developers to easily and quickly deploy new or existing Solidity DApps to Moonriver. The hackathon aims to provide developers with the opportunity to enter a new ecosystem and start developing through workshops, online support and bounty sponsorship.
Participating projects must be deployed on the Moonriver or Moonbase Alpha testnet. There is no entry threshold for this hackathon. The propositions include but are not limited to XCM, NFT, DeFi, Indexer, Gaming and other fields. All kinds of projects are welcome to submit and participate in the construction of the Moonriver ecology!
Developers can submit projects of all kinds to win $100,000 in prize money. Regardless of whether a project chooses a specific field or not, it is eligible for a $50,000 prize pool distributed through the DoraHack quadratic voting algorithm.
In addition, this hackathon also prepared two open Moonshot Bounty for all new projects, each worth $10,000.

XCM Cross-Chain Browser — 1st Prize: $20,000; 2nd Prize: $5,000
NFT field
NFT Collection and Display DApp — 1st Prize: $7,000; 2nd Prize: $2,500
NFT Creation and Deployment DApp — 1st Prize: $7,000; 2nd Prize: $2,500
Indexer field
On-chain data integration via indexers — $5,000
Gaming field
Launch a game on Moonriver — 1st Prize: $7,000; 2nd Prize: $2,500
This hackathon focuses on the field of Web3 innovation. Huobi Incubator Best Integrated Projects will be judged on creativity, technical solution quality and user experience. The top three projects in this field will receive awards of $10,000, $7,500 and $4,000, respectively.
The judging panel will be comprised of the Moonriver/Moonbeam team (including founder Derek Yoo) as well as external judges from Huobi Incubator, Arrington XRP Capital, Web3 Foundation, Covalent and ChainSafe.
