WSO2 completed the E round of financing, with a total financing amount exceeding 130 million US dollars

WSO2, a leader in digital transformation technologies, announced today that it has completed a Series E funding round with the addition of RedStart Labs, a subsidiary of Info Edge Limited. The move brings the total amount raised to $93 million. Info Edge joins lead investor Goldman Sachs, which closed the first tranche of its Series E round in November 2021.

Founded in 2005, WSO2's main product is API Manager, which companies can use to build, integrate and expose all of their digital services (whether on-premises or in cloud infrastructure) as "manageable APIs". In addition to this, WSO2 offers other "digital transformation" services, including an identity and access management (IAM) product that developers can leverage to ensure that only the right people can access specific applications.

WSO2 has previously stated that the company plans to use the funds raised in the E round to:

  • Introducing its next-generation cloud-native solutions to securely deliver APIs, applications and digital identities (Choreo and Asgardeo);
  • Further investments in core open source products for API management (WSO2 API Manager) and customer identity and access management (WSO2 Identity Server);
  • Accelerates global business expansion and grows the company's global network of partners and support.
  • In addition to supporting commercial products, it will invest in expanding the capabilities and community of Ballerina, the open-source language that radically simplifies the way developers build and deploy cloud-native applications.

Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana, Founder and CEO of WSO2 said: "We are seeing a growing market demand for our unique integrated approach as more organisations embrace digital business models. RedStart as part of Info Edge , with its deep market understanding, extensive network coverage, and successful investments in digital businesses like Zomato, will play a strategic role in helping us accelerate growth and customer adoption."

WSO2 currently has more than 800 customers in more than 90 countries and territories in financial services, communications, healthcare and technology, including well-known companies such as eBay, Qantas, American Express and Schneider Electric.

Since its inception, WSO2 has raised $133 million in funding.
