DevExpress is about to release v17.2 , in DevExtreme v17.2 some improvements have been made to the DevExtreme editor.
In addition to new additions and improvements to complex controls such as dxScheduler, dxDataGrid, dxTreeList and dxPivotGrid, we have also managed to add some useful features to the single field editor.
dxTagBox
In general, the TagBox control is a new control that many applications require today. It allows multiple entities to be selected or marked in a drop-down list while editing. If you don't have an edit control, it will display the number of blocks that contain the selected item (tab).
In v17.2 we added the possibility to use overflow mode or MultiTag. This means that if the total width of the selected tab block is greater than the total control width, the overflow block will be "collapsed" into a block containing the collapsed tab count. You can optionally specify a marker count threshold as well as appearance customization.
dxDropDownBox
In v17.1, we introduced dxDropDownBox as a new widget for DevExtreme. In v17.2, we added some custom features on this control like: templates, image cells, format text, and specifying additional event handlers on cells in the dropdown list.
dxDateBox
One of the most requested features in dxDateBox is to display the time in 12-hour and 24-hour formats. Therefore, it is now possible to specify the time format explicitly. (In previous and current versions, the format depends on the stored value)
dxDateBox and dxCalendar
In v17.2, you can apply selectable date ranges on dxDateBox and dxCalendar . This means that dates outside the valid range will be removed and not selectable. You can use this by applying a restricted list of dates, or you can pass a function that determines if a date is valid.
