expression binding
This release includes a new way to provide data to individual report controls. DevExpress Reports now uses binding expressions by default instead of using data binding (the default method used in previous versions). Unlike before this enhancement which allowed a limited number of bindable properties. This change allows you to assign values to target report control properties without using report scripts or conditional formatting.
PDF export - improved performance
This release includes a new PDF export engine that helps create PDF files and report documents at the same time. The PDF export engine supports two different modes: streaming and multi-threaded streaming. Multithreaded streams are almost twice as fast as previous versions and consume less memory. When dealing with a limited number of threads (for example, in a web application), you can use single-threaded streams.
DOCX export - improved performance
DOCX export is now 25% faster and consumes 5% less memory. Files take up to 50% less memory on the hard drive.
Report Server
Dashboard and report import/export
You can now transfer dashboards and report XML layouts between different instances of DevExpress Report Server. Import/Export options can be found on the Document Details web page and the Web Designer menu.
Self-registration
You can activate self-service enrollment when using Windows or an external authentication provider. This feature does not require the Report Server administrator to manually create an account for the new user, which is automatically created when the user logs in for the first time, the user is added to a group defined by the administrator.
External Certification Provider
By supporting OpenID Connect and WS-Federation protocols, you can integrate Report Server with compatible identity providers such as IdentityServer or MS Azure Active Directory.
Optimistic Document Locking
You no longer need to manually lock/unlock files for exclusive access.

New report template wizard
Choose one of the predefined templates to create professional-looking invoices in minutes. The updated report wizard allows you to map database columns to predefined invoice fields, select currency formatting options and specify discount/tax options.
