Wine 3.7 released. Wine (recursive acronym for "Wine Is Not an Emulator") is a compatibility layer capable of running Windows applications on a variety of POSIX-compliant operating systems such as Linux, macOS, and BSD. Rather than imitating internal Windows logic like a virtual machine or emulator, Wine translates Windows API calls into dynamic POSIX calls, freeing performance and other behavioral memory footprints, allowing you to cleanly integrate Windows applications into your desktop.
