Wine 4.17 release, Windows compatibility layer applications

Wine 4.17 was released. Wine (Wine Is Not an Emulator) is a compatibility layer to run Windows applications in a variety of POSIX-compliant operating system interfaces (such as Linux, macOS and BSD, etc.). It is not the same as a virtual machine or simulator to mimic the internal logic of Windows, but the Windows API calls translated into dynamic POSIX calls, eliminating the memory footprint and other performance behavior, so that you can cleanly integrate into your Windows applications desktop.

This updated version:

  • Mono engine with an upstream fix update
  • Support for compressed textures DXTn
  • The initial version of Windows Script Runtime library
  • XRandR support device change notifications
  • Support for RSA key generation
  • Acting on ARM64 support Stubless
  • Some bug fixes
