Wine 4.21 release, Windows compatibility layer applications

Wine 4.21 was released. Wine (Wine Is Not an Emulator) is a compatibility layer to run Windows applications in a variety of POSIX-compliant operating system interfaces (such as Linux, macOS and BSD, etc.). It is not the same as a virtual machine or simulator to mimic the internal logic of Windows, but the Windows API calls translated into dynamic POSIX calls, eliminating the memory footprint and other performance behavior, so that you can cleanly integrate into your Windows applications desktop.

This updated version includes:

  • Through HTTP proxy DHCP configuration
  • The parameter block support D3DX9
  • More dll converted to PE
  • Some bug fixes
