Wine 8.18 development version released

The latest development version of Wine 8.18 has been released.

Wine 8.17, released two weeks ago, brings preliminary window management capabilities to its Wayland driver. With the release of Wine 8.18, the Wayland driver's window management will be further enhanced. It all revolves around providing native Wayland support for Windows games/applications running on Wine as an alternative to X11/XWayland.

Let us wait and see how usable and complete the Wayland driver will be when the Wine 9.0 stable version milestone is reached.

Wine 8.18 also packages the FluidSynth library for DirectMusic processing and implements more special effects support in Wine's Direct3D (D3D10) code path.
