Confluence 6 About the Unified Plugin Manager

All components are managed through the Universal Plugin Manager, also known as UPM. UPM can be found in almost all Atlassian applications and can provide a fully agreed plugin installation management experience. To go to the Unified Plugin Manager (UPM) page, at the top of the page in Confluence, click > Add-ons .

UPM allows you to do the following:

  • Find, discover and install new components from the  Atlassian Marketplace .
  • Install or remove components.
  • Configure component settings.
  • Enables or disables the component in the module where the component is located.
  • Determine component compatibility before upgrading Confluence.

You need Confluence administrator privileges to access UPM. Please visit the Request Add-ons page to learn how users can find and request components.

Please see the Universal Plugin Manager documentation for more information on UPM.

Disable and uninstall components

You can disable or unsubscribe from installed components you no longer use. Please see the Disabling and enabling add-ons page for more information on disabling and enabling add-ons.

Once a component is disabled, all functions related to this component will be unavailable immediately. If a component includes a macro, then the page that uses the macro will give a hell of an unknown macro error message. To avoid this error, you can check the macros used in your site by checking the macro usage status when you disable this component.

Go to  >  General Configuration >   Macro Usage.
