Ubuntu18.04/20.04 complete novice installation tutorial

If you have a dual system installation, don't use the method of the article, just as follows:
When partitioning, just set the empty disk you prepared to this, primary partition + starting position + log file + mount point root directory/
Note: Remember to modify your bootloader

Because it is a dual system, the booter selects the eif device where windowsbootmanager is located.

  • Installation preparation
    • Ubuntu 18.04 image
    • A 8G or above USB flash drive

The following article is not my original, invaded and deleted.

Make a bootable USB flash drive

1. Empty the U Disk

After inserting the USB flash drive, format the USB flash drive

2. Copy the files into the USB flash drive

Double-click the ISO file you just downloaded, then select all the files in the opened window and copy them to the U disk.

Make room for Ubuntu

Right-click on the computer on the desktop, select Manage, click Disk Management on the left, and divide a space larger than 40G (if you are just for experience, it only needs less than 20G). Specifically, right-click the disk you want to partition, select compressed volume, and fill in the amount of space you want to compress.

BIOS settings

Turn off quick start

Check the Baidu experience , I won’t talk more about it here.

Modify the startup item (take Lenovo brand as an example)

Because my computer is Lenovo, I will take the Lenovo rescuer as an example to talk about how to modify the BIOS.

Restart the computer, and keep tapping F2 (some computers are F1, some computers are Esc, please check by yourself), until you enter the BIOS, click the direction arrow → move to Security, then press ↓ to move to Secure Boot, and click enter , Select Disable;

It is best to go to Boot to see if USB Boot is Enabled;

Regarding the inability to read the hard disk,

Need to select SATA Controller Mode as ACHI mode in BIOS, and finally, press F10 to save and exit.

(Update) There is a problem here. After changing the SATA Controller Mode, you cannot enter Windows after installing Ubuntu. The solution is to enter the safe mode of Windows after changing the SATA Controller Mode, and then restart it.

Install Ubuntu to the computer

After exiting, you will enter Windows again. Then, please restart again. Remember, don't unplug your U disk! ! ! Otherwise, what do you pretend to do!

1. When restarting to enter the interface of your computer brand, always poke F12, and select your U disk in the interface that appears. For example, there is an obvious "USB 3.0" in mine, please check it yourself.

2. Wait for a while to enter the startup option, without moving, choose Try ubuntu whthout install, you can first check the running status of Ubuntu on your computer before installing.

3. After entering Ubuntu, if you feel normal, you can click Install Ubuntu 18.04LTS in the upper left corner;

The next step is very simple, just point out a few issues that need attention

On the page that appears, find and click on the free disk that you previously divided. I searched for it based on its size. I previously divided it into 60G, so I found a disk with a size of about 60G, double-click the partition or select the partition, and click in the lower left corner +;

There are many partition schemes on the Internet
