Share: 5G mobile phones will boost 5G users to 2.3 billion
According to the "CreditSuisse" WeChat official account, the Credit Suisse global telecommunications team released a forecast of 5G progress in 29 research institutes covering countries and regions: By 2024, 5G users will reach 2.3 billion, and global revenue will reach 383 billion U.S. dollars will require 958 billion U.S. dollars in capital expenditure during 2020-24.
Credit Suisse said that so far, most of the commercial promotion of 5G is still concentrated on large data packets and 5G mobile phones, rather than applications, which makes the expected revenue growth rate for FY19-24 only limited to 1.3% per year.
This also means that for capital expenditures of more than US$958 billion, there are many challenges to generating returns; this partly explains why the telecommunications industry has performed poorly so far in the year.
