01_Ubuntu installation tutorial under VMware Workstation virtual machine

Starting from this blog post, we will begin to introduce how to carry out Hadoop-based big data basic practical learning under the existing conditions (only one Windows system computer).

Installation of VMware Workstation virtual machine

1. Why is it necessary to install VMware Workstation virtual machine? It is
well known that the main software for processing big data is Hadoop (note that Hadoop is called software here is actually not rigorous). As for why Hadoop is so hot, I will not do more here. Explained, only two points are explained, Hadoop is easy to use and is open source. Although Hadoop can also run on Windows systems, the only operating platform that Hadoop officially supports is Linux. However, the computer we usually use, especially the computer used by students is usually the Window system. At this time, we need to install a virtual machine on the Windows system to complete the installation of Linux on the Windows computer.
The current mainstream virtual machines include Oracle VM VirtualBox and VMware Workstation. Here we should highlight that Oracle VM VirtualBox is a free virtual machine software that can be downloaded from the official website or searched on the Internet, while VMware Workstation is charged. There are no public software resources online. ** If necessary, you can contact the author, and it can be provided free of charge to some well-meaning fans. Of course, you can also get resources from more important channels. ** This blog post mainly introduces VMware Workstation, because personally I feel that VMware Workstation is easier to use than Oracle VM VirtualBox, maybe it is just a personal feeling.
