installation
1. First go to the homepage of the virtual machine, click to create a new virtual machine
2. Then select the typical installation, click Next
Enter the CD/DVD option, make sure to open the check box in front of the connection when starting, and then use the ISO image file. It is
recommended to bridge and
click Finish.
Then you can open ubuntu, click to open this virtual machine and
wait until it appears,
don’t click restart now. Turn off directly, then turn off the
settings, turn off the check box in front of the connection when starting, then turn on
Configuration
Double-click the vmware tools icon to enter, and then open the terminal
cp VMwareTools-10.1.6-5214329.tar.gz /tmp
cd /tmp
tar -xvf VMwareTools-10.1.6-5214329.tar.gz
cd vmware-tools-distrib
sudo ./vmware-install.pl
Remember to restart after successful installation
tar: vmware-tools-distrib: cannot mkdir: read-only file system
Reason: When vmwareTools is installed, a virtual CD-ROM drive is created. The permission of this CD-ROM drive is only read-only and cannot write to it.
Solution: Move or copy "VMwareTools-10.1.6-5214329.tar.gz" to another directory and unzip
ubuntu authentication failed
Enter sudo passwd rootin the terminal and update the password
