Some people say the government should give priority to the health care, while others believe that tax payers’ money should be spent on more important things. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
The government, as a decision-maker, is the representative of citizen’s basic interests. Hence, every governmental policy will surely exert a profound influence on the further prosperity of the nation. Some people believe that the medical treatment should be considered firstly, while others insist that there are more significant things waiting for the government’s budget.
Those who support healthcare should be put at the top, think that several reasons can illustrate why government should do this. First, people have rights to purse health as a necessary condition of a proper human life, so the government’s effect means that they helps people defend the right. Furthermore, as for those who are living under poverty line and suffering the agonies of various diseases, they might fail to afford a small proportion of their medical care expenses. Therefore, doing this can mitigate this problem to stabilize the society and enhance the government’s prestige.
However, opponents think, compared with healthcare, the government has more pressing social problems that need to render more concerns over. First, the educational problem should be emphasized. When more and more people have tertiary education qualification, they can work on high-skill and professional jobs, which can improve the productivity and boost the economic development. Additionally, the environment where people live should be poured into funds, because it directly links with people’s survival and development.
In my point of view, government have obligation to optimize the taxpayers’ money, which means that they should control the budget when they give healthcare top priority and take other social problems into consideration fully.
