5. Concept: What's new in SAP BussinessObjects information design tool 4.0 Feature Pack3

5.1 Several new Feature have been introduced in SAP BO IDT 4.0 Pack 3 to enhance your ability to create the semantic layers leveraged by your BI report and query tools. 

5.2 IDT introduces the ability to create relational connections to SAP ERP systems. which you to create single-source or multi-source universes that provide acess to ERP data in your reporting and query tools.

 

 5.3 In addition to SAP ERP, you can also create relational connections to Apache Hadoop HIVE ,SAP HANA database 1.0 ,Oracle EBS, and Sybase IQ 15.1-15.3

5.4  Features that are specific to Essbase are also fully supported .

 

 5.5   create OLAP connection to SAP BO Financial Consolidation 10

 5.6 You can define customer user attributes in the Centel Management Console(CMC) and assign specific values to individual users or have the values defined referenced in the information design.

5.7 In the Query for an OLAP data source. 

 5.8 In the Connection view for a data foundation.

 

 5.9 Additional options in the secondary menu for tables in a data foundation enable you to automatically delimit table name in any SQL expressions in which they appear. and to define table qualifiers or owners.

 5.10 You can now view  properties for each object in a data foundation, such as tables ,columns, and joins, in a dedicated Properties panel at the bottom of the screen.

 5.11   Cheat sheets  are designed to help users that are we new to the information design tool.

 5.12 A new right is also availiable in the Centel Management Console.

7. Create an OLAP connection to an Oracle Essbase data source.

7.1 Click File, Create a new connection in an existing project. 

7.2 Click New 

 

7.3 Select OLAP Connection 

 

7.4 Define a unique name for the connection,Type Essbase and then click Next> 

 

7.5 Choose the Essbase driver for your connection, Click to expand the list of Oracle drivers. 

 

 7.6 Click to expand the Hyperion Essbase 11.x data source.

 7.7 Select the Essbase API for Analysis driver.

 7.8 Click Next>

 7.9 Click to expand the Sample catalog.

  

7.10  Select the Basic cube.

 

7.11 Click Finish.
